We are an oatmeal loving family and any way to change it up and make it more delicious is always appealing. This oatmeal ROCKS. It's buttery, a little crumbly, and completely addictive.
4 cups rolled oats
1 C brown sugar
1TBSP cinnamon
1/2 tsp cloves
1 TBSP baking powder
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 C milk
1/4 C water
3 eggs
1/2 C melted butter
1 TBSP vanilla
Mix all together in a large bowl. I just use a wooden spoon.
Add 2 chopped apples. Keep the peels on and make it 1/2 inch dice or less. Stir in the apples.
Pour into a greased 9x13 pan. Bake uncovered at 350 for 40 minutes.
Dave's Raves: I LIKED it. So. Good. Please make it some more.
Options: replace the apples with 1 C dried cranberries, or raisins, or whatever dried fruit you wish. Throw in some nuts. Make it your own!
